Following an upgrade from Impact 4.1 to Impact 5, the Graphics menu and its associated tools previously located beneath Utilities are no longer visible. You now have two options to retrieve this tool. You can either add the new Graphics menu in its entirety to the main toolbar, which will contain the New Image Wizard now renamed to 'Add Graphic', Raster to Vector, Fill Area tools, etc. Or you can just add the required graphic tool onto any existing menu bar or toolbox.
1. Add the new Graphics Menu (recommended).
- Right-click by the side of the Help menu or on any toolbar and pick Customise from the context menu to switch to Customise mode.
- Click the 'Commands' tab and select the 'Main Menu' category.
- Drag and drop the Graphics menu item into the desired position on the main menu toolbar. If the Graphics menu item isn't available in this list, then refer to the related troubleshooting articles.)
- Close the Customise window.
2. Add a single graphic tool to an existing menu.
- Right-click by the side of the Help menu or on any toolbar and pick Customise from the context menu to switch to Customise mode.
- Click the 'Commands' tab and select the 'Graphic Tools' category.
- Locate the required tool e.g. 'Add Graphic'. Drag and drop the menu item into the desired position on any toolbar or menu.
- Close the Customise window.
The linked tutorial below provides a demonstration of one of the techniques employed here.
(Note to always update your saved Appearance Settings after ANY environment customisation, see related tutorials.)
