Texture Quality options added for 3D PDF / Universal 3D exports*
Previously, Impact would automatically export the content of 3D layers to both 3D PDF (*.pdf) and Universal 3D (*.u3d) files using the texture quality they were created with. As Impact 2019 R2 introduced the 'Very High' and 'Unlimited' quality options for folded models it suddenly became possible to create very large or invalid files on disk.
A new export option 'Texture Quality' now offers specific control over the resolution of exported textures (Low, Medium, High, Very High), which will have a file size and performance benefit for higher quality models, and can be configured for Adobe PDF and Universal 3D exports.
Note: As the Texture Quality represents a limit of the exported resolution, it will NOT upscale the quality of any existing artwork, only downsample to the level selected. If you have a low resolution 3D model, you would therefore need to update this first to benefit from using a higher quality export option.
Adobe PDF export settings, which double up for both 2D and 3D PDF exports, now include the 'Texture Quality' option within the '3D Layers' section.
Universal 3D export settings also now include the 'Texture Quality' option.
