Can I change the project background colour?

This is possible in all versions of the Impact application.

In Impact 1.3:

  • Click Options>Project.
  • Click the Display tab.
  • To change the project background specifically, click the colour picker next to 'Background'.
  • Select the required colour and click OK to close the Project options.
  • This change will affect the current project only. 
  • To make a permanent change to the project background, consider the use of a project template or a modification of the Master Template!

In Impact 2.0, 2.1, 3.0, 3.1 & 4.0:

  • Click Options>Project.
  • Click the Colours node.
  • To change the project background specifically, click the colour picker next to 'Background' within the 'General Colours' area.
  • Select the required colour from the basic colour picker or click 'Other' to blend your own colour.
  • If you define your own colour, remember to click Add to Custom Colours, select the new colour & click OK.
  • Click Close to close the Design Options.
  • This change will affect the current project only. 
  • To make a permanent change to the project background, consider the use of a project template or a modification of the Master Template!

In Impact 4.1:

  • Click Options>Environment to display the Impact Options dialog.
  • Expand the Database Installation branch.
  • Click the Colours node.
  • To change the project background specifically, click the Drawing category and Project Background.
  • Click the Change button to display the colour picker.
  • Select the required colour from the basic colour picker or click 'Define Custom Colours' to blend your own colour.
  • Click OK to close the colour picker, once you have selected the required colour.
  • Click OK to close the Impact options.
  • Remember to update your Appearance Setting after any changes to your Impact environment!

In Impact 5.0:

  • Click Options>Environment to display the Impact Options dialog.
  • Expand the Environment branch and click the Colours node.
  • To change the project background specifically, click the Drawing category and click Project Background.
  • Click the Change button to display the colour picker.
  • Select the required colour from the basic colour picker or click 'Define Custom Colours' to blend your own colour.
  • Click OK to close the colour picker, once you have selected the required colour.
  • Click OK to close the Impact options.
  • Remember to update your Appearance Setting after any changes to your Impact environment!

In Impact 5.1 and Later:

  • Click Options>Environment to display the Impact Options dialog.
  • Click the Environment branch and tick the Advanced box.
  • Expand the Environment branch and click the Colours node.
  • To change the project background specifically, click the Drawing category and click Project Background.
  • Click the Change button to display the colour picker.
  • Select the required colour from the basic colour picker or click 'Define Custom Colours' to blend your own colour.
  • Click OK to close the colour picker, once you have selected the required colour.
  • Click OK to close the Impact options.
  • Remember to save your Appearance Setting after any changes to your Impact environment!
