Text Entities

Text entities can consist of plain text which you type, or special text (such as the result of a calculation or the value from a database field), or a combination of both.

You can use Draw - Text - Single Point,  Draw - Text - Between Two Points or Draw – Text – Bounded to create text entities.

Text can be drawn in any palette, but normally a default palette is set up in Design Options - Palette Options.  Selected text entities can be modified using the Entity Inspector (click the Text tab), or using Draw - Text - Editor.  Each text entity uses a font, which can be a standard Windows true-type font, or a built-in Impact line font.

If you frequently draw text using the same font and properties (size, bold, italic, and so on) then it is recommended that you create one or more text styles to make it easier to manage the text. This can be done via Design Options; it is usually better to do this in a template than in an individual project.

Text entities can be exploded into lines and arcs using Edit - Explode.
