Impact est capable d'importer et d'exporter de nombreux formats de fichiers différents. Ils peuvent être répartis en trois groupes :
- les formats de fichiers 2D utilisés par les outils Fichier > Importer et Fichier > Exporter
- les formats de fichiers 3D utilisés par les outils Fichier > Importer 3D et Fichier > Exporter 3D
- les formats de fichiers graphiques utilisés par les outils Graphismes > Ajouter graphismes et Fichier > Envoyer à > Fichier graphique
