Edit > Paste
This tool allows you to copy stripper areas/regions, together with their settings, restrictions and components, from the Impact clipboard to another position within the design. You must have previously used the Copy tool to place this information into the clipboard.
Edit bar controls
Copy Last Hole
If this option has been checked, then the tool is forced to run in manual mode, requiring two clicks. The original geometry is pasted regardless of whether the configuration of entities and blocks at the paste location precisely matches that of the region in the clipboard.
Mirror on Y
If the Copy last hole option has been checked, then the original geometry can be mirrored vertically by checking this option before pasting.
Mirror on X
If the Copy last hole option has been checked, then the original geometry can be mirrored horizontally by checking this option before pasting.
Angle
If the Copy last hole option has been checked, then the original geometry can be rotated by changing the value before pasting.
Not Mirrored
If this option has been checked, then the tool will not consider paste locations where the configuration of entities and blocks are mirrored. This option is only available if the Copy last hole option has not been checked.
How to use the tool
On activating the tool, Impact will try to identify configurations of entities and blocks which match the copied region in the clipboard, so that you can automatically paste a copy in precisely the right place using only one click. The tool will highlight potential paste locations as you move the cursor around. Simply click to select the one you want.
If this auto placement fails, the tool will warn you, and you will need to manually paste the selection using two clicks; one to identify a point to copy from, and another to identify a point to copy to. This failure may be because no matching areas exist, or may be because an area which appears to match may have a slightly different configuration of entities and blocks.
