This tool allows the distance between any two picked points to be calculated. The points can be identified using snap modes where they are part of existing entities or they can be freehand points.
After activating the tool, pick the first point. A rubber band line appears following the cursor which represents the distance being measured. Pick the second point.
The x-offset, y-offset and measured distance will now be displayed on the Edit Bar and in the Output toolbox.
When using this tool on a 3D layer you can use the Lock > Horizontal, Lock > Vertical or Lock > Both modes.
