This tool allows the perpendicular distance between any point and an entity to be calculated. The point can either be a freehand point or part of an existing entity.
After activating the tool, first pick the point; snap modes can be used to help pick the point. Then identify the entity.
The measured distance will now be displayed on the Edit Bar and in the Output toolbox.
