Rubber Path

Will create rubber blocks relative to a series of entities and optionally apply a Crease Mask.

TIP: The functionality of this tool is similar to the Path Finder tool and will allow for creation of rubber on either side of the path.

The Edit Bar controls will display the following options when the tool starts:

Rubber Find Path - The current tool.

Interactive - This is the same as for the Path tool. If it is switched on then the Use max number of entities, Use max length and Use max number of bends options are made available.

Accept - Will accept the displayed region and create the rubber.

Mask creases - Enabling this option will mask away rubber for crease lines. If not enabled, rubber will be placed on crease lines as well. For information and settings for Crease Masking, see the Master Tool Settings for Automatic Rubber.

Show Dialog - By default, adding Panel rubber will do so according to the current Master Tool Setting for Automatic Rubber. These settings can be overridden with the Show Dialog option. If enabled, after the Accept, the Rubber Attributes Form is displayed for override values before creation.

Offset To Left - By default, all rubber will be added to the right side of the running direction of the selected path as from the start entity to the destination entity. Enabling this option will add rubber to the left of said path.

Mode - Allows you to control the direction of the path at intersections

Always left - At intersections, the path selection will automatically turn left if possible, aiming for the destination entity.

Always right - At intersections, the path selection will automatically turn right if possible, aiming for the destination entity.

Users choice - At intersections, the user has to pick the direction to go by picking the next entity, not necessarily the next entity directly at the intersection, but an entity that will be on the final path and that will clearly indicate in what direction to go from from the intersection.

Rewind - allows you to rewind the path findings in steps and choose a new direction if necessary.

Stop At Dead Ends - determines if the tool will pause when a dead end is reached. This option doesn't do much as the Mode setting overrides this option and the Mode cannot be switched off.

Replicate - Enabling this option will replicate changes, in this case new rubber blocks, on other inserted one-ups with the same one_up name as the one where the change takes place (a.k.a. Multi-up replicate) and on areas of the same configuration of entities and blocks as the area selected. The Replicate option is modal, i.e. other Rubber Edit tools will have the replication option set as it was used last time by any tool in this group.

Stick to palette - as with the Path tool, switching this option on forces the path to only include entities with the same palette as the entity that was identified first.

To use: Pick the start entity, then indicate start direction of the path by picking a point; e.g, the right side of the start entity if you want to go to the right. Then pick the destination entity of the path. Depending on the settings you have chosen, the tool may pause at intersections or dead ends. At intersections pick a point to indicate which direction the path is to continue. Once the path has been identified press the Accept button to create the rubber.
