Delete Constraints

This tool  is used to remove a constraint from an entity or point.

To use the tool, identify a constraint icon. That constraint (and any associated ones) will be removed. For example, if you have a parallel constraint associated with two lines, each line will have an icon, but you only need to identify one of these to remove them both.

Another way to delete constraints is with the right-click context menu.

For example, if you right click on a perpendicular constraint icon then you'll see the option Delete Perpendicular Constraint and selecting this will delete the constraint.

However, if you have a parallel constraint that is associated with 3 or more lines and you right-click on one of the icons then you'll see two options:

  • Remove entity from Constraint
  • Delete Parallel Constraint

If you select Delete Parallel Constraint then it will delete the constraint from all of the lines, but if you select Remove entity from Constraint then it will remove that line from the parallel constraint but it will remain on the remaining lines.

If a parallel constraint is associated with only 2 lines then you won't see the Remove entity from Constraint because you can't have a parallel constraint which is associated with just 1 line.
