This tool is used to draw geometry which is at a set offset from existing lines and arcs.
The cursor is displayed with a circle around it, the radius of which corresponds to the Offset Snap Radius of the Snap Settings toolbox and Snap Settings dialog.
Pick a point, making sure that the circle around the cursor is slightly covering the entity or entities you want to be offset from. If you pick close to a corner, the point will be equidistant from both entities.
If you pick close to a single line or arc, the point will be offset from that line or arc.
This snap mode is particularly useful with sausage cursors.
