This tool allows you to create a new blank layer for the current drawing (project, symbol or template). On starting the tool, the Layer Properties form appears, containing only the New Layer tab, allowing you to enter a layer name and configure the layer's properties (such as whether it is a one-up or multi-up).
You can also modify the database information for the layer using Database - Layer.
There are several ways to run this tool:
- from the File>New menu
- from the layer tabs at the bottom of the drawing, right-click on any tab and choose New Layer
- from the Drawings Hierarchy of the Impact Explorer, right-click on any layer item
