Quick Rebridge

This tool allows you to rebridge entities more quickly than when using the Edit - Rebridge tool, but with fewer options.

From the pull-down list choose the required method:

  • Add bridges
  • Change number
  • Change width
  • Move bridges
  • Rebridge to mode
  • Rebridge user-defined
  • Remove bridges
  • Spanish bridges

Some methods allow you to pick an entity whereas others work on all selected entities. You can either pick one entity directly, or pick on the background to draw a line which intersects several entities. If there are selected entities, press All selected to rebridge them.

Add Bridges

On the edit bar enter the Bridge Width, then pick the bridge position on the entities. Snap modes can be used to identify the required bridge position.

Alternatively, if you choose Use offset from end on the edit bar, and specify an Offset distance, you can pick a single entity and a bridge will be added offset from the closest end. If you switch on Double placement on the edit bar, a bridge will be added offset from each end.

If you switch on the Bridges span entities option, this will allow bridges to be placed over more than one entity where the picked point on the geometry is too close to the end of an entity. So, for example, rather than adding a 10mm bridge to the end of an entity, you could have a 7mm bridge at the end of the picked entity and a 3mm bridge at the connecting end of an adjacent entity.

Change Number

On the edit bar enter the number of bridges in Bridge Quantity and pick the entities.

Alternatively, if there are selected entities, press All selected to rebridge them.

You can change some additional options by pressing Style to show the Quick Rebridge Settings. This allows you to determine how to treat bridges that coincide with entity intersection points.

Change Width

Enter the Bridge Width and pick the entities. If you pick on a bridge, only that bridge is modified, otherwise all bridges on that entity are affected.

Alternatively, if there are selected entities, press All selected to rebridge them.

Move Bridges

Enter the Distance to move the bridge, then pick the entity near to the bridge. The bridge will move towards the pick position.

Rebridge To Mode

From the pull-down list on the edit bar choose the mode:

  • 1-2-1
  • Equal Spaces
  • None

Enter the Bridge Width and pick the entities.

Alternatively, if there are selected entities, press All selected to rebridge them.

You can change some additional options by pressing Style to show the Quick Rebridge Settings. This allows you to determine how to treat bridges that coincide with entity intersection points.

Rebridge User-Defined

From the pull-down list on the edit bar choose which of your predefined styles to rebridge with. These are configured from the Design Options form of the Options - Project tool.

Remove Bridges

If you switch on the edit bar option All bridges, then you can either select a single entity or draw a line through several entities. All bridges on the identified entity or entities will be removed. With this option switched off you can either pick on a bridge to remove, or draw a line which intersects several bridges to remove them all.

Alternatively, you can use the edit bar option All selected to remove all the bridges from all the selected entities.

Spanish bridges

Enter the required Bridge Width. Then you can either select a single entity or draw a line through several entities. Spanish bridges will be added to the ends of the identified entity or entities. Alternatively you can use the edit bar option All selected to add Spanish bridges to all the selected entities.
