Hole Flap Rubber

  This tool allows you to create rubber geometry offsetting inside a picked hole allowing for crease entities.

Edit Bar controls: Mode, Settings, Replicate, Mode, Accept, Finish, Cancel.

  • Mode – determines how the tool will offset from the hole.
    • Normal face – will create two offsets from the hole, similar to the hole finder tool.
    • Radiator face – will create a solid block of rubber offsetting once inside the hole and profiling any internal entities. For example this mode can be used for flaps with glue assist perforation.
  • Settings – from the pulldown list choose the Rubber settings required. The settings are stored in the Master Tool Settings. You can make a temporary override to the settings shown by pressing the edit button and changing the values shown in the Rubber Settings form
  • Mode – determines the type of mask created and the respective angles. The mask creates sections of rubber to be deleted from the original rubber profile.
    • Standard mask – offsets two parallel lines from any crease entities. Creates a link from the crease to the intersection of the first mask with the first hole offset then a link to the intersection of the second mask with the second hole offset.
    • Simple mask - offsets two parallel lines from any crease entities. Creates a links from the crease to the first mask and to the second mask at the angles specified in the settings.
  • Replicate  - instructs the tool to check for holes of the same configuration of entities and blocks as the hole selected and automatically create the rubber geometry.
  • Accept  - will accept the picked hole and display the rubber geometry.
  • Finish  - will create the rubber profiles.
  • Cancel  - will cancel the current rubber profiles.

To identify the hole in which to create the rubber geometry, pick a point inside the hole.

The entities surrounding the picked hole are highlighted in white. If the area detected is only part of the area you wish to add rubber to, you can hold the Shift key down while picking additional areas - these will be added to the rubbered area. Similarly holding Control down will remove picked areas. This part of the tool is similar to the Hole Finder tool.

Once the hole has been identified press the Accept button. Depending upon the mode (simple or standard) chosen a number of handles on the mask profile will be displayed. By clicking onto one of these handles you can alter the mask profile by dragging and dropping it to a new position. The rubber geometry within the masked area will be deleted.

Press Finish to create the geometry or Cancel to remove the profiles drawn.
