Blanker Creator

The Blanker Creator tool in Impact is used to create the lower (female) blanking unit and the upper (male) unit complete with pushers. There is also an option to create the rubber that will be adhered to the pushers on the upper tool.

You should start the tool from the dieboard layer. It is recommended that the one-up cartons are either block or layer inserts, otherwise automatic replication cannot be used.

Sessions

The Blanker Creator is a special tool which allows you to exit and continue at a later time. You are also able to edit existing blanker data that was created with the tool in a previous session.

If Impact detects that information about a previous Blanker Creator session exists, it will display the following confirmation before the Blanker Creator window is displayed:

The current layer contains information from a previous session, which will enable you to resume using this tool from where you left off. However, resuming may cause you to lose any changes made directly to the blanker geometry using other tools since this information was created. Do you wish to start afresh instead?

Answering Yes, Restart editing, means that you will not be allowed to edit any previous blanker data. Answering No, Continue editing, means that you will be allowed to edit any previous blanker data, but any that have been edited by hand outside the Blanker Creator will have their changes discarded and will be put back to how they were before you last exited the tool.

Before using the tool, you will need to create Master Tools Settings for the Blanker Frame and the Blanker.

Edit bar controls

Choose the required Master Tool Settings from the list.

> Place Frame
> Frame Symbol Patterns
> Shift Symbols
> Place Bars
> Create Lower
> Create Upper
> Station Numbers
> Labels
> Visibility
> Copy Section
> Copy

Initially, only the Place Frame tool is available. After placing the frame, then the other tools become available.
