Automatic Degradation

Automatic Degradation - when checked, this option allows objects to be degraded (temporarily represented by their bounding boxes) within the 3D scene. This may help improve response time when moving or rotating objects or the camera about a complex 3D scene.

3D scene containing many folding models with artwork & material textures - the scene may be slow to manipulate.

The Degraded scene provides a quick response time by switching to a bounding box representation during scene manipulation. The artwork & material textures are then redrawn when the scene is static.

Choose the Automatic degradation options to suit your hardware:

    • Target Frame rate - choose the target frame rate for the renderer. Automatic degradation will occur when the target frame rate cannot be achieved.
