Custom Component

Name

Enter a unique name for this component.

Restriction Type

From the drop down list choose <None>, Profile, Simple, Radii, Radii - Length or Radii - Angle. This is used to define whether or not the female component acts like a restriction.

  • <None> - The custom component can still be placed in the stripper, but male components that have been assigned anchor to restriction will not be used.
  • Profile - This uses the geometry provided for the restriction.
  • Simple - This mimics the simple restriction. The restriction is a linear axis parallel to the base.
  • Radii - This mimics the radii restriction. The restriction is in a radial axis.

Restriction Offset

Enter a value for the offset from the design profile to the restriction.

Restriction Length

This field is only available for Simple or Radii - Length type restrictions.

Restriction Angle

This field is only available for Radii - Angle type restrictions. It is the sweep angle of the restriction.

Restriction Radius

This field is only available for the three Radii type restrictions.

Inside

Switch this option on if you want this component to be placed on inside/stripper waste areas. This will enable the following fields.

Female Component

From the drop down list choose the required Female Component.

Depth

This is the depth into the wood that the female component is placed, based on its origin.

If materials have been defined, Material specific overrides can be made for this value by clicking the Material button.

Angle

This is the angle at which the female component is placed. You can choose the point about which to rotate the component by choosing the appropriate setting from the drop down list - Rotate on Base; Rotate on Tip or Rotate on Origin.

Male component offset

Enter a value to define the distance from the centre of the female component to the nearby male pins.

If materials have been defined, Material specific overrides can be made for this value by clicking the Material button.

Outside/Perimeter

Switch this option on if you want this component to be placed on outside/perimeter regions.

As above

Switch this option on to use the same settings as for inside components. Otherwise you can define values as above.

Preview

The preview area shows what the female component will look like with the given parameters. You can toggle between Inside View and Outside/Perimeter View (if these have been defined differently) using the buttons below the preview.
