The Expression Field displays the variable or conditional expression that Impact is ready to assign. You can either click on the desired variable or expression in the variables window to select or enter the name in the field provided. The Expression field will also accept hard numbers, formulae using numbers, existing variables or a combination of all of these.
A Variable can be applied by populating this field with a variable or expression, clicking on the Assign Dimension button (first button to the right of the entry field), then click on the desired dimension(s). Another method is simply selecting the desired dimension(s) first then populate the field and click on the Assign Dimension button. Either method will work.
A Conditional Statement can be applied by populating this field with a variable or expression, clicking on the Assign Conditional Statement button (second button to the right of the entry field), then click on the desired dimension(s). You can also preselect the dimensions prior to applying them as described above.
