Database Installation - Remote Access

Allow remote access to this database

Switch this option on to allow users logged on to other Impact databases, and users of the standalone Impact Browser, to connect to this database. These remote connections are made and used via the Project Browser. You can then specify who is allowed to connect to this database using the following options:

  • Only allow authorised Impact users to connect - each connection must specify a valid username and password for this database
  • Also allow guest access to this database - connections may be made without a username and password

For guest access you can also specify the following options: 

Guest Privileges

From the drop-down list choose a defined User Privileges Master Tool Setting.

Guest Folder Access

From the drop-down list specify access rights to project, template and symbol folders. Choose from No Access; Read Only; Read and Write; Read, Write, Add Folders and Full Access. See Folder Properties.
