Automatic Nicks

This is the tool form that is opened when you run the Automatic Nicks tool.

Automatic Nicking

Settings

Choose the required master tool settings from the drop-down list. A local override can be applied to these settings using the edit button .

Common knife

All knives that are suitable for nicking are automatically selected. At this point you can use Shift Click to append entities to the selection set or Ctrl Click to toggle the selection of entities.

Add nicks

Nicks will be automatically added to all the selected entities according to the current settings.

Add manual nicks

Nicks can be added to any entities in the drawing using the manual Add Nicks tool.

Remove all nicks

Select an entity from which to remove all the nicks.

Remove a single nick

Select a nick to remove.

Change nick symbols

Select an entity then choose a new symbol to be used on that entity.

Change nick pattern

Select an entity. The Nicking symbol edit form will appear. Enter new values for the pattern and press Ok.

Internal waste

The first internal waste area will be selected and automatically zoomed into. The manual Add Nicks tool will start.

The following options are only available when doing Internal waste:

Change a nick symbol

Select a nick then choose a New symbol.

Move nick symbol

Select a nick then pick a new position for it.

Next waste

The next internal waste area will be selected and zoomed into. After the last internal waste area has been found a message to this effect will be displayed.

View

Common nicks

Use this option to toggle the visibility of nicks on common knives.

Waste nicks

Use this option to toggle the visibility of nicks on waste areas.

Bridges

Use this option to toggle the visibility of bridges.

Save and exit

Select this option when you have finished adding nicks.
