Name

Enter the unique MTS name.

Enter the description of this setting.

Rule Preparation - Machine Setup

Device port

From the drop down list select the required output port (such as COM1) or <None>.

Protocol

If a serial communications port has been specified then the protocol settings, such as baud rate, flow control etc. can be configured here.

Type

From the drop-down list select one of the following:-

  • Hugo
  • Marbach NC
  • Hugo VI
  • BB020
  • Datatech
  • Linbend

Units

From the drop-down list select one of the following:-

  • metric (1/100 mm)
  • imperial (1/1000 in)
  • metric

Filename

Enter the filename for the output data. The following substitution codes can be used within the filename:-

 %<ProjectName> The current project name
 %<LayerName> The current layer name
 %<CustomerCode> The customer code assigned to this project
 %<CustomerName> The customer name
 %<ProjectCode> The project code from the database
 %<RevisionNumber> The revision number from the database
 %<Date> The current date
 %<Time> The current time
 %<[TABLE.COLUMN]>
 The database entry from the given table and column
 %<MachineName> This machine name

Pathname

Enter the required path for the output file, or select a path using the edit button.

Output to machine

Select this option to send output to the specified port.

Output to file

Select this option to send output to the specified file.

Rotary rules

Select this option, which is only available for Datatech machines, for rotary output.

Wood thinkness

This is also only available for Datatech machines. Enter the dieboard wood thickness here.

Depending on the machine type chosen, up to three tools can be configured.

The Linbend machine does not require any tools to be configured, the Datatech, Hugo and Marba NC machines allow two tools to be configured whilst the Hugo VI machine allows all three tools to be configured.

Type

From the drop-down list select one of the following:-

Notch

A notch tool is used to output a bottom notch. It is a fixed size so it does not allow any parameters to be configured.

Bridge

A bridge tool can be used to output any bridge that is equal to or greater than the size of the tool. The tool parameters will need to be configured.

None

This specifies that the tool is not being used.

Bridge as is

This is a special bridge tool, where the controller can work out how to handle the widths and overlaps.

Perforation

A perforation tool can be used to output any top notch that is equal to or greater than the size of the tool. The tool parameters will need to be configured.

Perforation as is

This is a special perforation tool, where the controller can work out how to handle the widths and overlaps.

Width

Enter the size of the tool.

Overlap

If the bridge or notch is larger than the tool, then there should be a minimum overlap between two adjacent tool positions. For example, if a 7mm bridge is being cut with a 4mm tool and the overlap is specified as 2mm then three cuts with the tool will be needed as two cuts would only give a 1mm overlap.

Upper Tolerance

Lower Tolerance

Enter the required tolerance values. If the required bridge/notch width is equal to the specified tool width within the given tolerance values then a single output of the tool will be used to cut the bridge/notch.
