Stripper Machine Settings - Female

Output to layer

The geometry created by the tool can be transferred to another layer by checking this option and from the pulldown selecting the layer, or by typing a standard layer name into this field.

Output to sub-blocks

This option determines if the new geometry will be added to sub-blocks of the specified name.

Perimeter

Inside palette

From the pulldown list choose the palette for the inside female profiles.

Outside palette

From the pulldown list choose the palette for the outside female profiles.

Grip palette

From the pulldown list choose the palette for the grip.

Use laser offsets

To add the laser beam allowance to the female profile, check this option and add the Beam width.

Width

This option determines if the method used to determine the width should be Use design width or Fixed width.

For fixed width, add the precise Width to be used and the X Offset at which the wood should be placed. For use design width, specify the Side Lay and Off Lay distances that should be used.

From Variable f(x) - With any of the Fixed Width settings, the value can be loaded from an existing Layer Variable or Project Variable. Please see Diemaker Project Variables for more information.

Maximum and Minimum are the limits for the wood extents. If the calculated size falls outside these limits an error will be displayed when the tool is run.

Height

This option determines if the method used to determine the height should be Use design height or Fixed height.

For fixed height, add the precise Height to be used and the Grip edge distance at which the wood should be placed. For use design width, specify the Back edge and Grip edge distances that should be used.

From Variable f(x) - With any of the Fixed Height settings, the value can be loaded from an existing Layer Variable or Project Variable. Please see Diemaker Project Variables for more information.

Maximum and Minimum are the limits for the wood extents. If the calculated size falls outside these limits an error will be displayed when the tool is run.

Perimeter Corners

This option determines if the corners of the wood extents are to be Square, Filleted, Chamfered or Symbol.

For filleted corners, add the fillet Radius. For chamfered corners, add the chamfer Distance. For symbol corners, add the Trim distance to be removed from each corner, and select the Symbol to use.

Centre Notch

This option will add a centreline notch or line to the grip of the perimeter.

Palette

From the pulldown list choose the palette for the centre notch.

Width

The width of the centre notch. If this distance is set to 0, then only a centre line is added. Otherwise, if laser offsets are being used, then the actual width of the centre notch will be smaller (by the beam width).

Height

The height of the centre notch. If laser offsets are being used, then the actual height of the centre notch will be smaller (by half the beam width), unless only a centre line has been added. If a negative value is entered here then the notch direction will be reversed; i.e. it will be on the outside of the stripping board.

Offset

The distance the centre notch will be offset from the centre of the design extents.

Notch Corners

You can specify parameters for the notch corners here. The Near Type refers to the corners on the edge where the notch is anchored. The Far Type refers to the corners within the notch.

Near Type

From the pulldown select Square, Fillet or Chamfer. If you select Fillet you will then be able to enter the fillet Radius; if you select Chamfer you will be able to enter the chamfer Length.

Far Type

Similarly, select Square, Fillet or Chamfer for the other corners.
