The Tick Attributes form can be accessed either from the Master Tool Settings or from Draw - Add Ticks.
Name
Enter the unique MTS name.
Description
Enter an optional description for these settings.
Place all tick geometry in new block
Switch this option on if required, and enter the block name to be used for the ticks. (Note that each type of tick may also be created in a sub-block; choose Place in new block and enter a block name in the appropriate tick type).
Preview
A preview shows each type of tick and the effect of changing the values.
The ticks may comprise one or more of the following:
Tick Attributes - Centre Lines
Place centre line geometry
Switch this option on if you want to draw centre lines. These can be a cross, a circle or a symbol at the centre of the design.
Style
From the pulldown list choose the required one:
- Symbol
- Use the edit button to choose a symbol from the Symbol Select form.
- Simple Cross
- This option will draw a cross at the centre of the design.
- Cross length - Enter the required size.
- Palette - From the pulldown list choose the palette in which to draw the geometry.
- Centre extended to cut/selected extents
- This option will draw a cross, whose size is determined from the design geometry, offset by a specified amount.
- Cross overrun - Enter the required size (which may be negative) to go outside the extents.
- Palette - From the pulldown list choose the palette in which to draw the geometry.
- Circle
- This option will draw a circle at the centre of the design.
- Diameter - Enter the circle diameter.
- Palette - From the pulldown list choose the palette in which to draw the circle.
Tick Attributes - Corner Marks
Place corner mark geometry
Switch this option on if you want to draw corner marks. These can be a cross, a circle or a symbol at each of the four corners of the design.
Style
From the pulldown list choose the required one:
- Symbol
- Use the edit button to choose a symbol from the Symbol Select form.
- Cross or right-angle
- This option will draw a cross at the four corners of the design.
- Cross length - Enter the required size (which may be zero) to go outside the extents.
- Inside Length - Enter the required size (which may be zero or negative) to go inside the extents.
- Offset - Enter the required offset from the extents (which may be negative).
- Palette - From the pulldown list choose the palette in which to draw the corner geometry.
- Circle
- This option draws a circle at each corner.
- Diameter - Enter the circle diameter.
- Offset - Enter the required offset of the circle centre from the corner.
- Palette - From the pulldown list choose the palette in which to draw the circle.
Tick Attributes - Centre Ticks
Place centre tick geometry
Switch this option on if you want to create centre ticks. These can be a cross, a circle or a symbol at the design sides, which may be placed at the left and right, top and bottom or on all four sides.
Style
From the pulldown list choose the required one:
- Symbol
- Use the edit button to choose a symbol from the Symbol Select form.
- Cross or T-junction
- This option will place a cross, or T-shape, at the chosen sides.
- Which centres - From the pulldown list choose Left and right centre ticks, Top and bottom centre ticks or All centre ticks.
- Cross length - Enter the line size (which may be zero) that will be to the outside of the design.
- Inside length - Enter the line size (which may be zero) that will be to the inside of the design.
- Parallel length - Enter the length of the line (which may be zero) that runs parallel to the edge of the design.
- Offset - Enter the distance (which may be zero or negative) to offset the parallel line from the edge.
- Palette - From the pulldown list choose the palette in which to draw the geometry.
- Circle
- This option draws a circle at the chosen sides.
- Which centres - From the pulldown list choose Left and right centre ticks, Top and bottom centre ticks or All centre ticks.
- Diameter - Enter the circle diameter.
- Offset - Enter the distance (which may be zero or negative) to offset the parallel line from the edge.
- Palette - From the pulldown list choose the palette in which to draw the circle.
Tick Attributes - Registration Marks
Place registration mark geometry
Switch this option on if you want to add registration marks. These can be a cross, a circle or a symbol and are placed interactively once the other marks and ticks have been placed automatically.
Style
From the pulldown list choose the required one:
- Symbol
- Use the edit button to choose a symbol from the Symbol Select form.
- Cross
- This option places a cross at each of the identified locations.
- Cross length - Enter the required cross size.
- Palette - From the pulldown list choose the palette in which to draw the geometry.
- Circle
- This option places a circle at each of the identified locations.
- Diameter - Enter the circle diameter.
- Palette - From the pulldown list choose the palette in which to draw the circle.
