Edit Bar controls: Construction Circle, Start Angle, Bevel Inside, Holding Bridge, Clockwise, Create Duplicate Entities, Palette Group, Palette.
This tool allows you to create a circle by specifying three points on its circumference. The following options are required:
Construction Circle – determines if the circle is to a construction circle or in the current palette.
Start Angle – controls the start point of the entity.
Bevel Inside – if the current palette has side bevels defined, this will determine the direction of the bevel. See Palette Attributes.
Holding Bridge - if the current palette has holding bridges set up, this will determine the direction of any holding bridges. See Palette Attributes.
Clockwise – determines the direction of the arc.
To construct the circle pick the first point through which the circle passes using the required snap mode.
A flexible line is then drawn rotating about the first picked point, then pick the second point. A flexible circle is then displayed going through the two picked points and the cursor position. Now pick the third point.
Constraint Manager
If you have the Constraint Manager active whilst using this tool you will experience the following differences:
- A coincident or concentric constraint is added for each click that's on a point on an entity
- As a circle is being added, as long as the cursor is not currently snapping onto a point, then the tool infers when the radius gets close to the radius of an existing circle and it snaps to use that radius, unless the Control modifier is used - if the circle is added whilst inferring to another radius then an equal radius constraint is added between the new circle and the existing circle
