Parametrics

A parametric is a resizable, dimension driven design. Each panel that the user wants to be able to resize has a variable assigned to it. By changing the values of the variable, the design automatically resizes.

A parametric design can be either a project or a template. If the parametric is saved as a template, it needs to be saved with the “Create as parametric template” option selected.

If the parametric is saved as a project, it should always be opened as a copy to prevent the original being overwritten. One template or project can contain more than one layer including combinations of parametric and non-parametric layers.

Parametric designs do not need to be completely dimensioned to work. Only those dimensions that you want to change need to be added to the design.

There is no user interface to present variables, previews or any other formatting in a parametric. These options are only available in a Standard.
