This wizard, which is opened from the Database Administration form - Tools - Wizards menu, creates a zip file of settings that can be easily imported at other sites to keep the databases synchronised. The zip file can be automatically emailed to the other sites.
Settings Synchronisation Export Wizard - Options
List the following
From the pulldown list choose either All items or New items only. If you choose All items then everything will be displayed but only those created or modified on or after the threshold date (see below) will be selected by default. If you choose New items only then only those created or modified on or after the threshold date will be displayed. These will all be selected by default.
Threshold date
This date affects the items that are displayed and selected as described above.
Site filter
This option will only appear if you have chosen to Use multiple database sites from the Options - Database Installation - Sites page. If this is the case, then a pulldown list containing all available sites will be displayed. Choose the required site, or <None>. If you apply a site filter then this will restrict the list of Master Tool Settings (below) to those that are available at the chosen site.
On the following pages; Symbols, Templates and Master Tool Settings you can right-click on an item to bring up a context menu with the following options:
- Properties - displays the symbol or template properties, or shows a read-only page of the appropriate Master Tool Setting
- Expand all - opens all of the nodes on the current page
- Collapse all - closes all of the open nodes on the current page
- Select all - switches on the check-box of all items on the current page
- Select none - switches off the check-box of all items on the current page
- Select default - puts the check-boxes back as they were when the page was first opened
- Select all in this folder - switches on the check-boxes of all items in the same folder as the current one
- Select none in this folder - switches off the check-boxes of all items in the same folder as the current one
- Show legend - you can use this option to either display or hide the help panel on the right-hand side of the page
Legend
This panel is slightly different for each of the three pages. It describes the meaning of each of the icons that could be displayed in the Modified column, or against each item or node.
New
The item has been created or modified since the Threshold date.
Not new
The item was created or modified before the Threshold date.
No selection
A folder marked with this icon has no selected items within it.
Partial selection
A folder marked with this icon has some, but not all, items within it selected.
Full selection
A folder marked with this icon has all included items selected.
Custom folder
The MTS page differentiates between system folders and custom folders by showing their names in different colours.
Settings Synchronisation Export Wizard - Symbols

Depending on the option chosen, either all of the symbols in the current database will be displayed or only those created or modified on or after the specified threshold date. You should select the ones that you want to export. You can use the right-click context menu to help as described above.
Settings Synchronisation Export Wizard - Templates
Templates
Depending on the option chosen, either all of the templates in the current database will be displayed or only those created or modified on or after the specified threshold date. You should select the ones that you want to export. You can use the right-click context menu to help as described above.
Settings Synchronisation Export Wizard - Master tool Settings
Master Tool Settings
Depending on the option chosen, either all of the settings in the current database will be displayed or only those created or modified on or after the specified threshold date. You should select the ones that you want to export. You can use the right-click context menu to help as described above.
Flatten custom folders
If any custom folders have been created in the Master Tool Settings, then switching this option on will remove those folders and bring any settings up to the top-level. The folder names will be preserved, however. For example, you might have created a custom folder Bobst under the Diemaking - Dieboard folder, containing an MTS called Laser 1. If you flattened the custom folders, you would see an MTS called Bobst | Laser 1 within the Diemaking - Dieboard folder.
