Predefined Cluster

In order to help you quickly set up some of the more common cluster component combinations, particularly those which earlier versions of Impact used to support directly, clicking the Add Cluster button on the Dynamic Stripping Component form will bring up a list of pre-defined clusters that will generate combinations for you automatically. You can then fine tune and combine these cluster components individually.

Predefined Clusters

Ordinary Restriction

This pre-defined cluster adds the cluster components necessary to create a dynamic stripping component that places the default component relative to the restriction.

Double Placement

If the double placement option is checked, then two components are placed, one left, one right, if the width of the restriction is bigger than the Width above value specified, but just one otherwise.

Placement Mode

If the 1-2-1 option is checked, then the double placement components are added at 25% and 75% along the restriction respectively. If the Distance from end option is checked, then the double placement components are added at the specified absolute distance away from each end of the restriction.

Both Sides (Perpendicular)

This pre-defined cluster adds the cluster components necessary to create a dynamic stripping component that places two default components relative to the base, one left at 100% along the base, one right at 0% along the base, with both components perpendicular to the profile.

Both Sides (Parallel)

This pre-defined cluster adds the cluster components necessary to create a dynamic stripping component that places two default components relative to the base, one left at 100% along the base, one right at 0% along the base, with both components parallel to the profile (one rotated by 270 degrees, one by 90 degrees).

Nose Top

This pre-defined cluster adds the cluster components necessary to create a dynamic stripping component that places two default components relative to the restriction, both at 50% along, one left and one right. The two components have a perpendicular offset given by the Top component distance value, and a separation given by the Top component width value.

Wood Bridge

This pre-defined cluster adds the cluster components necessary to create a dynamic stripping component that automatically places an equally spaced number of components along both sides of a wood bridge (or any breaker), the number of components being dependent on the length of the bridge.

Specify three up to values for the Bridge length, and specify the Number of components that should be placed for each. This number of components is placed on either side of the breaker, perpendicular to it, depending upon the trim distance.

First Knife

This pre-defined cluster adds the cluster components necessary to create a dynamic stripping component that automatically places components along a first knife depending on its length.

For first knives up to 5mm in length, a single component is placed 0% along the breaker, parallel to it. For first knives bigger than 5mm, a pair of components is placed 0% along the breaker, perpendicular to it, separated by the double placement separation value. For first knives bigger than 30mm, an additional pair of components is placed 100% along the breaker, perpendicular to it, again separated by the Double placement separation value.

Auto-sizing Waste

This pre-defined cluster adds the cluster components necessary, for the Male Component Library being used, to create a dynamic stripping component that automatically re-sizes depending on the offset distance; for example, you can make it so that for a library of pins, the largest pin is used between paired restrictions unless it is too big to fit, in which case a smaller one is used automatically, unless that is too big to fit, and so on.

Max Shared Component Offset

This value is used to determine the maximum distance between the two restrictions that is allowed before a single shared component placement is made between them. For distances greater than this, each restriction is given its own component placement instead (as if the restrictions were not paired).

Conditional Placement

All Tools

If this option is checked, the cluster components will be placed with all restriction tools, provided that the restriction type supports the anchor selected.

Only Selected Tools

If this option is checked, the cluster components will only be placed with the specifically selected restriction tools in the list.
