Rotary Scrap

Name

Enter the unique MTS name.

Enter the description for this setting.

General

Rotary Scrap - General

Angled Knife Adjustment

Select this option if dog-legs are to be added to the end of the scrap knives when they don't intersect the perimeter of the chosen shape at right-angles.

Threshold

Enter the required tolerance when comparing the intersecting angle with a right-angle.

Length

Enter the required length of the dog-leg knives.

Sub-Blocks

Select this option if the scrap knife entities are to be copied into blocks.  A separate block will be created for each shape.

Block Name

Enter the base block name. Each one will be made unique by having a sequential number appended to the name.

Automatic block placement

Select this option if you want the scrap knives to be placed automatically in the selected hole. The alternative is for a rectangular block of knives to be created which you can then manually drop into the required position. The knives will then be clipped against the perimeter of the hole.

Minimum knife length

Enter the required value. Any scrap knives created that are shorter then this value will be shown in a different colour.

Vertical

This page defines the settings for scrap knives that are positioned vertically in the identified shape, rather than vertical knives.

Palette

From the drop-down list choose the palette in which these scrap knives should be created.

Bridge Style

From the drop-down list choose the bridge style that should be applied to these knives.

Spacing

Enter the required value of the vertical spacing.

Step

If a vertical step is required between adjacent scrap knives enter the step value here. This value is not used if a trapezium has been specified.

Pin Stripper

Select this option if the Step value should be applied in preparation for the Pin Stripper. This means that the step will alternate in direction as shown below:-

Keep rule together

Select this option if you want end-to-end vertical knives to be joined together into a single entity wherever possible.

Rotate Angle

Enter the required angle through which to rotate vertical knives.

Horizontal

This page defines the settings for scrap knives that are positioned horizontally in the identified shape, rather than horizontal knives.

Palette

From the drop-down list choose the palette in which these scrap knives should be created.

Bridge Style

From the drop-down list choose the bridge style that should be applied to these knives.

Large spacing

Rather than creating a rectangular shape it is possible to create a  trapezium by specifying a different value for the top and bottom. Enter the required value of the larger dimension here.

Small spacing

Enter the required smaller dimension here. If Automatic block placement mode has been specified then this value will be overridden with the large value.


Rotate Angle

Enter the required angle through which to rotate horizontal knives.

Keep rule together

Select this option if you want end-to-end horizontal knives to be joined together into a single entity wherever possible.

Cursor Position

This page is only relevant if Automatic block placement is switched off.

Rotary Scrap - Cursor position

Position

Choose which part of the grid cursor to use as the anchor point.

Offset

Enter the X and Y offset values for anchor point relative to the above position.

Extensions

This page defines the rectangular shape inside which the rotary scrap knives will be placed.

Rotary Scrap - Extensions

Mode

From the drop-down list choose one of the following options:-

  • From design extents
  • From wood extents
  • From sheet extents

Enter the values that define how much the rectangle extends from the chosen extents in each direction.
